Myra Hargrave McIlvain has free-lanced as a writer of Texas historical markers, written articles for newspapers all over the country and for magazines such as Texas Highways. Her love of a good tale prompted her to write six nonfiction books about famous and infamous Texas sites and characters. Her most recent, Texas Tales, Stories that Shaped a Landscape and a People, is a collection of 113 of her favorite Texas history blog posts.

Allison F. Speer

Allison F. Speer  is a writer-turned-mom-turned-teacher. A newspaper reporter for 15 years, Speer has won a number of awards for investigative reporting and feature writing both in Connecticut and in Texas newspapers and magazines. In between writing and teaching, she spent a little time in the marketing department of the nationally ranked Fort Worth Zoo, where she found the inspiration for her first book. She is the mother of twin daughters and currently teaches gifted/talented for White Settlement ISD Fort Worth, Texas. Her second book, Faith Flies, is also available in local bookstores across the state, on Amazon, and her website
