B. Alan Bourgeois

Founder/Director/Author

B. Alan Bourgeois began writing when he was just a child, but as many children of his era and of the artistic background were told, “You need to study and get a real job to earn a living.” That statement from a well meaning mother put a pause on his desire to write.

In 1989, he was asked to write a short story based on an actual event in his life. He did, and it was published as $200 Alan. Seeing his story in print once again inspired him to begin writing. Since then, Mr. Bourgeois has written many articles, short stories, editorials and has 7 books published covering many genre’s.

Through the process of writing and getting published, Mr. Bourgeois saw a need for additional marketing avenues for Authors that was not covered in the normal channels. While there were a lot of new ‘web’ based social networks for authors, there was nothing that really helped challenged them, and or gave them a way to promote themselves in a way that finds new readers; WeFiction.com is in the process of being that new marketing tool.

In addition, Mr. Bourgeois saw a special niche market for Texas Authors; Texas Assoc. of Authors was thus created to highlight the estimated 1,000 Texas Authors that write on a wide range of subject matter. TAA does this through seminars, their on line book store, and traveling around the state with the TAA ‘pop up’ store.

Mr. Bourgeois continues to write when he can, and assist new authors through his company Bourgeois Media & Consulting (BMC). He finds great joy in helping authors work through the various steps and processes needed to get their book(s) published. “There is nothing greater than seeing someone’s dreams become reality,” he says.

Jan Sikes

Author/Board Position 1
Multi-Award winning author, Jan Sikes, began her writing journey around the age of eight.

Primarily, the stories she writes are true stories about the journey of two people moving through adversity in order to grow and learn to become better humans. She believes with all her heart, there is something worth sharing in these stories. Bits and pieces of wisdom, hard-learned lessons and above and beyond all, love…True love that you read about in fiction stories…and yet this is truth. The old saying, truth is stranger than fiction fits these stories.

Lorri Allen

Author/Board Position 2

Journalist Lorri Allen was single for 33 years, so she has a place in her heart for singles. She has struggled with weight, so she has compassion for situations that make women feel helpless. She's been married long enough to know about the joys and work involved. Through it all, Lorri has found strength in the love of Jesus, so she has been speaking to encourage others since the early 90's.

Lorri's call to merge broadcasting with ministry occurred in 2004, when she was hired to start up a news department at a national faith-based television network. That led to a morning show that was simulcast on Sirius and television and a stint with a radio network based in Arizona.

Lorri is active in the National Speakers Association. The surprising story of how her parents met was published in the best-selling book, Chocolate for a Woman's Heart. Lorri’s collection of heart-warming essays came out in 2011. It’s All Good News: Encouragement for Every Season can be the basis for a four-session women’s retreat or ask for the study questions and have Good News as a study aid in a class or book club.
